Sung Moon is a recent graduate from the Ph.D. program in Human-Computer Interaction, School of Informatics, Indiana University (Indianapolis, IN). Through several startup activities and various research projects collaborating with MITRE, a research corporation, he found opportunities to hone his analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills. This led to his decision to pivot to Data Science where he is able to leverage his skills in various machine learning methods (supervised and unsupervised) as well as R and Python. Sung wants to contribute to solving challenges in data science and finding meaningful insights from big data. He is eager to keep advancing his skills and building value in a professional environment. He considers himself as a self-starter, a continuous life-long learner, creative thinker, and a team player. The primary focus of his doctoral research was on behavioral change and decision making through information visualization, gamification, and social elements. He also holds an MS degree in Information Technology, School of Computer Science, from Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, PA) and a BS degree in Computer Science from Soongsil University (Seoul, South Korea). Sung spends his spare time playing (+ watching) soccer and running.
