Brett has spent his career at the intersection of technology, analytics, business and law. As a Fellow at NYC Data Science Academy, he is applying this diverse experience to helping organizations maximize the impact of data driven decisions. After practicing law and serving as a law clerk for two federal judges, Brett became a law professor at Villanova University. At Villanova, Brett began his transition to a career in technology when he enrolled in Villanova’s computer science masters degree program, and also became the Director of the Center for Information Law and Policy. Brett left Villanova to become the founder and CEO of Verilaw Technologies, a venture funded company that was acquired by LexisNexis after growing to the nation’s top provider of electronic document distribution systems for the legal community. Since then, Brett has served as a management consultant and in various executive sales leadership positions in companies of varying sizes. The common theme throughout Brett’s career has been his interest in using data as a tool to drive creativity — and results — in analysis and problem solving.
