Rigorous analysis has been at the core of Hayesβs educational and professional experiences to date; from his undergraduate studies at the College of William and Mary to his work as a Pricing and Data Analyst at Vonage. Fundamentally, Hayes is interested in understanding what leads people to make decisions, an interest that led him to major in psychology as an undergraduate, to enjoy using data to understand consumer purchase behavior for Vonage products, and to pursue a future as a data scientist. As a data scientist, Hayes enjoys applying programming skills through R, and Python to find meaning in large data sets, finding trends or predicting behaviors and outcomes. His projects include analyzing the Leading Causes of Death in NYC, developing a shiny app to show Meta Kaggle data on teams, and applying web scraping to Popular Board Games. When not solving problems through machine learning or programming techniques, Hayes enjoys reading, traveling, and playing board games.
