Ismael’s roots are in finance and statistics. He has six years of experience in such areas as financial analysis, trading and portfolio management. He was part of the team that launched the very first exchange-traded-fund in the Philippines. He holds a BS and Masters in Applied Mathematics, where he took interest in quantitative finance topics such as derivatives and market risk management. An avid learner, he made a career shift through NYC Data Science Academy where he was immersed in data of all forms, from publicly available to web scraped. He loves programming to create visualizations and apply machine learning techniques. Ismael is fascinated with the flexibility, creativity, and impact that data can bring to businesses across industries. While on his free time, he enjoys the fitness and excitement of calisthenics and skateboarding.
