Joseph Wang graduated from theoretical physics program at the University of Texas at Austin with years of proven research experience in modeling collective phenomena and exploring numerical simulation to make predictions in complex systems. Identifying correlations between different degrees of freedom, connecting those to the understanding of challenging problems and making predictions are his strengths and passion. In industry, he worked on evaluating rock properties by acoustic signals at Chevron Corporation. In academics, he held a postdoctoral research position at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He also held a record on publishing three well recognized papers in Nature, Science, and Nature Communications. His experience developing complex models with machine learning algorithms and strong problem solving skills motivated Joseph to enter the field of data science with endless possibilities. At the NYC Data Science Academy, Joseph is upgrading his hands-on experience to a different level. He used to lead as a second lieutenant in Taiwan Marine Corps and a swimming athlete back to college. At spare time, he enjoys hiking with his wife and playing baseball at his backyard.
