Nelson enjoys engaging in challenging problems and flexing his analytical and programming skills to find worthwhile solutions efficiently. His expertise lies in the intersection of high performance computation and machine learning analytics. His capstone project involves scraping beer ratings, building both content-based and collaborative filtering based recommendation systems, and tying it all together into a web application. He has a Bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and a Master’s degree from University of California, Berkeley in Mechanical Engineering. When he is not coding, he loves to attend urban hip-hop dance classes and eating good food.
