Scott is an aspiring data scientist with a background in mathematics and computer science. He obtained his bachelorβs degree from Ramapo College of New Jersey. For over three years, Scott worked as a financial advisor for Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. and gained a passion for manipulating large datasets and extracting meaningful insights. After learning about the career path of a data scientist, Scott joined the NYC Data Science Academy to pursue this career change. Since joining the bootcamp he has gained experience in machine learning, web scraping, data analysis techniques and software development in Python, R, and SQL. For the capstone project, Scott and his team developed an event- based stock prediction model with >70% accuracy predicting direction of stock movement.
