Trent Jerde has 10+ years of experience in analyzing and modeling data from neuroscience, cognitive science, and psychology. He has a PhD in neuroscience from the University of Minnesota and is currently a visiting faculty member in the Department of Psychology at New York University. In recent years, Trent has developed technology for the treatment of brain disorders as a consultant for Medtronic. In his capstone project, Trent uses data science tools and machine learning to address an important health challenge: how can we make deep brain stimulation work better for individual patients with movement disorders such as Parkinsonβs disease? When not immersed in brains and data, Trent collects art and enjoys the diversity and culture of New York City.
