Software engineer and data scientist with a unique interdisciplinary background. I have a passion for adding value to data, gaining actionable insights, and implementing innovative solutions through creative and effective problem solving. Having worked in a variety of domestic and international industry, research, and education settings, I have developed the ability to explain abstruse concepts in clear and engaging ways.
Currently, I am an R&D Engineer at AIVA Technologies, a leader AI-driven music technology startup based in Luxembourg. In this capacity, I am responsible for MIR (music information retrieval)-based feature development and the design and implementation of audio analysis tools.
I have presented and published extensively on a broad range of research topics, including innovative auditory warning design, sound information retrieval, perception, and classification, approaches to creative audiovisual media integration, and robot opera.
Throughout my career, I have held diverse leadership roles, which have ranged founding faculty member and Music program director of the International College of Liberal Arts (iCLA) of Yamanashi Gakuin University in Kofu, Japan, to Artistic Co-Director of the Menlo-Atherton Academy of Contemporary Music (MAACM), an arts education non-profit offering concerts and workshops to high school students in San Mateo County, CA, to Managing Director of Ensemble Modelo62, an 11-member new music consort based in The Hague, NL.
