Cole Ingraham
Lead AI instructor and School Director
Dr. Cole Ingraham has been teaching and working with music, game design, and machine learning for decades. He started learning software engineering and data science by studying music composition and computer animation. As an educator, he taught various instruments, writing music, and programming to students from elementary school through university and beyond. His career as the chief scientist and musician has led him to design Amper Music, the world’s leading AI music composition platform from 2015-2020. Later, Cole joined Shutterstock as Director of AI and BlueCore as Director of Data Science.
Cole has worked in the industry building generative AI models for Fortune 500 companies and giving consulting services to investment firms and top leaderships in a big array of industries on how to build and invest in a future of Generative AI. He is our Lead AI instructor and in charge of Generative AI and Large Language Model bootcamps and courses.
Kyle Gallatin

Kyle Gallatin currently serves as the Software Engineer @Machine Learning Infrastructure at Etsy. He previously worked at Pfizer as a Machine Learning Engineer/Data Scientist. He holds Masters' and Bachelors' degrees in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Quinnipiac University. Kyle is also an alumnus from NYC Data Science Academy, 2017, 8th cohort of Data Science Academy. He has been a mentor for data science bootcamp since 2018!

Denis Nguyen

With a growing interest in business and management, he obtained his MBS in Analytics from Rutgers University and works on performance improvement through workflow automation. Stella Kim is a highly analytical and motivated individual interested in using AI to reshape business strategies to make data-driven, customer-centric decisions. She is currently working as a data scientist in the telecommunications industry under their Corporate Finance division. She holds a Master's in Biotechnology, has PhD experience in Cancer Biology and Genomics, and has worked as a data scientist in the biopharmaceutical industry. She is proficient in Python, R, and SQL, and is skilled in data analytics, visualization, machine learning, and statistical methodology.

Jonathan is an award winning public health professional with a certification in data science dedicated to data-based decision making and efficiency. With nine years of combined experience in scientific research, biotechnology, education, and healthcare, he has developed a variety of skills in research, policy, program development and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, capacity building, and analytics. Jonathan's curiosity and learn-by-doing approach - instilled by his alma mater, Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo - has pushed him to exercise his leadership and innovative spirit domestically and abroad, whether it be studying international health systems in Denmark, volunteering with clinical lab scientists in Bolivia, or developing new health programs in San Luis Obispo.

Zeyu earned his master's degree in Electrical Engineering at New York University. With a strong background in object-oriented programming and a solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, he helps virtual and physical machines to evolve. Zeyu prides himself on being a versatile professional as he thrives on solving problems that require multiple skills, including Python, C++, R, SQL, C#, HTML/CSS, or JavaScript. Mark Martinez

Mark Martinez is a data scientist / data engineer at Jackpocket. He graduated from Harvard in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Applied Math and Biology and from Princeton with a masters degree in Computer Science, with an emphasis on computer vision. At Princeton he did research on self-driving cars, and worked specifically on how to create virtual environments used to test and train algorithms used for lane detection and driving. He worked as a data scientist with Johnson and Johnson from 2014-2016 and as a software developer with Square from 2018-2020.

Hasan Aljabbouli

Hasan Aljabbouli obtained his master's degree and a doctorate in Artificial Intelligence at Cardiff University after studying Information Technology at Homs University. He has extensive experience in academia, working with different universities, and publishing many scholastic materials in Data Mining and Machine Learning. Hasan holds two patents on Product Surface Defect Detection Device and Portable Section Measuring Instrument.
Jay Lee

Jay Lee has been a life-long marketing expert specialized in quantitative analysis. He has taught various marketing classes at Purdue Univeristy Krannert School of Management and have worked in several companies, Korea Telecom, Samsung Electronics, and dunnhumby, as a marketing analyst. At Korea Telecom, his main roles as an entry level marketing researcher were to forecast sales and traffic of communication services and analyze data for CRM or more than 20 million consumers. After his first job, Jay Lee decided to expand his knowledge in marketing by joining the Ph.D. program at Purdue University Krannert School of Management. Once graduating he joined Samsung Electronics as a senior marketing manager. During Samsung, he conducted marketing intelligence and forecasted sales for mobile markets such as smartphones and tablets. Furthermore, monitored consumer analytics of these mobile products. Following the role at Samsung, he joined dunnhumby as a senior data solution analyst. At dunnhumby, he analyzed consumer transaction data for retailer industry, implemented schemes for consumer retention and loyalty programs, and provided client solutions for big data analyses.

Vivian Zhang
Chief Technology Officer and School Director
Vivian is the CTO and School Director of NYC Data Science Academy and CTO of SupStat. With her extensive experience working in the data science field, she developed expertise in multiple programming languages, including R, Python, Hadoop, and Spark. In August 2016, Forbes ranked her amongst one of the nine women leading the pack in data analytics. In 2013, she created the NYC Open Data Meetup group, which stands as one of the largest data science communities offering meetups, conferences, and a weekly newsletter. In her spare time, Vivian enjoys meeting people and sharing her motivational stories with our students and other professionals.
