As a social science researcher with a PhD in cognitive psychology, Sara has been applying data science skills (including hypothesis testing, statistics, machine learning, and natural language processing) to program evaluation and behavioral science in ways that enhance understanding of peopleβs experiences, choices, reactions, and behaviors. In the NYC Data Science Academy certificate program, she advanced her skills for coding in Python, R, and SQL and applied her data science abilities to a broad range of domains related to sales, consumer behavior, and the health care industry (e.g., analysis of themes in Amazon product reviews that drive product sales, development of algorithms identifying health care fraud that maximize net savings and minimize unnecessary litigation costs).
