I love using data to answer questions! Being a former PHD student in sociology at the University of Notre Dame, I am inherently fascinated, and trained, in analyzing and understanding human behavior. More than looking at data strictly as hard numbers, I understand data in the context of representing of social action. While at Notre Dame, my research utilized large scale census data, combined with other rich data sources, to examine phenomena like the relationship between community homicide rates and neighborhood racial composition, mental health status and the intergenerational transmission of socioeconomic status, the presence of private schools and the likelihood of a neighborhood gentrifying, and more. With robust training in quantitative methods, in addition to programming skills in R and Python, I am adept at deploying flexible code in order to leverage data to tell insightful stories. I have a passion for using data to answer meaningful questions and look forward opportunities to apply these skills in real world settings!
